About Aprilia

Acquired by the Piaggio Group in 2004, Aprilia was promptly introduced to the market by M. Demajo & Co Ltd, popularising their range of scooters and iconic super bikes, including models like the RSV4R. Today, Aprilia's sporty, well-designed scooters and motorcycles are highly sought after in the local two-wheeler sector.

Originally a scooter manufacturer, Aprilia's identity evolved over time to include race-winning sport bikes and its renowned 1,000 cc V-twin Super bike, the RSV Mille, and its latest V4-based RSV4. Established post World War II by Cavaliere Alberto Beggio in Noale, Italy, Aprilia started out producing bicycles before transitioning to mopeds with models like the Colibrì, Daniela, and Packi. In 1970, Aprilia ventured into motocross bikes with the Scarabeo. By the end of the 1970s, Aprilia had made a name in the motocross world with Italian rider Ivan Alborghetti winning the Italian 125 and 250 cc motocross championships on an Aprilia. In 1990, the company diversified its portfolio with the Pegaso 600, a road bike with off-road influences. Success continued in 1992 with Alessandro Gramigni securing the World 125 Road Racing Championship title and Tommy Ahvala winning the World Trials Championship on an Aprilia Climber. Since then, Aprilia has claimed 124 Grand Prix victories in the 125 and 250 cc classes, 15 Road Racing World Championship titles, and 16 European speed titles. The brand has also served as a stepping stone for many world champions including Biaggi, Capirossi, Gramigni, Locatelli, Sakata, and Rossi.
